Cosmic Evolution of X-ray Emission from Galaxies

Using deep X-ray surveys and their multiwavelength ancillary data we are directly measuring the evolution of X-ray binary populations in normal galaxies across cosmic time.  See our work in the Chandra Deep Fields.

X-ray Binary Populations in Local Galaxies

We are  building a comprehensive empirical framework describing how X-ray binary populations evolve with respect to their host galaxies.  We incorporate Chandra X-ray data to identify and study the X-ray binaries, as well as data from several other telescopes (e.g., Herschel, Hubble, SDSS, Spitzer, 2MASS) to learn about the stellar populations in the vicinities of the binaries.
